Along the Mapocho Edit

The Mapocho river runs through the heart of Santiago. This route follows its banks from Parque de los Reyes eastward through Lastarria and Providencia all the way to Parque Bicentenario de Vitacura.

The ride starts at Parque de los Reyes, where the river meets the old train station. Head east along the Costanera Sur bike path — the river is on your left, and on a clear day you can see the Andes above the treeline.

Past Parque Forestal the path crosses under Pío Nono and continues through Providencia. The last stretch along the Costanera is quieter, ending at Parque Bicentenario where there's good shade and a cafe.
